ABOUT THE ISC
Working together to keep people safe
The International Safeguarding Conference is an annual event designed to help people work together to protect children and at-risk people from abuse.
WELCOME
A global community for safeguarding
The conference is attended by individuals from a wide range of backgrounds: faith leaders, safeguarding professionals, trauma specialists, academics, researchers and others dedicated to the prevention and tackling of abuse.
The ISC provides a platform for learning, networking and sharing best practice in safeguarding. Attendees take part in workshops, presentations and discussions led by experts in the field, leaving with practical strategies they can put to work straight away.
OUR HOME
Under the auspices of the IADC
The International Safeguarding Conference is now organised entirely under the auspices of the Institute of Anthropology: Interdisciplinary Studies on Human Dignity and Care (IADC) at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.
The IADC researches and teaches on the safeguarding of children and vulnerable people, forming a new generation of safeguarding leaders through interdisciplinary study, professional formation and academic programmes. Bringing the conference fully within the IADC unites this gathering with the Institute's wider mission to protect human dignity.
OUR STORY
The people who shaped the conference
The ISC was founded and shaped by a committee of safeguarding leaders, practitioners and academics from around the world. As the conference moves fully under the IADC, we remain grateful to the founding members whose vision created it.
